Born and raised in Lancashire, England, antiques was just a way of life for Gill. Everybody's home housed numerous treasures without even knowing it. Scouring weekly car boot sales at the crack of dawn with her mother, paved the way for a great passion for antiques. The thrill of finding a hidden gem and selling it at auction soon became her favorite past time. The adventurer in her took her to travel the world through work on board luxury cruise liners and it's here where Gill met her Dutch husband Yogi. For a whole 10 years they worked together onboard cruise ships and lived amongst different cultures while learning about the world along the way. This was when they realized what a great team they made and dreamed of one day owning their own business together. It wasn't until they arrived in Cary, NC, that they found the perfect place to turn that dream into a reality. As chance would have it, an English looking tavern, formerly known as Wivi & Me, became available. After months of hard work the building was transformed into a showroom filled with character and true English charm. Gill's beautiful collection of antique furniture is imported directly from England and many hidden gems can be found in her home décor collections. By October 2008 they managed to fulfill their dream by opening the doors to Streets of London Antiques and have ever since been successful!

The mission at Streets of London Antiques is to offer quality antiques at affordable prices, so everyone can take home a taste of English heritage. Gill manages the store and herself on the high standard of customer service, which only comes natural after working on a 5 star cruise line for many years. As this is practically her second home, a warm inviting atmosphere is very important to her. Even if you don't find what you are looking for right now, you will at least enjoy the experience of leisurely browsing, without being harassed with heavy sales techniques. Through extensive research she strives to provide the most accurate descriptions and information on each piece in her store. Honesty and integrity are a priority at Streets of London Antiques and she believes that this is what will keep people coming back time and time again

At Streets of London Antiques worldwide shipping is no problem. Utmost effort is made to find the lowest shipping price possible. Quotes from numerous different companies are compared and no additional handling fees will be charged. All items will be carefully packaged to ensure your purchase reaches you in the same condition it left our store.

A simple lay-away plan is available to spread payments or simply for when you don't want to have the purchased items delivered yet, due to relocation or renovation. Whatever the reason, they will work with you to make owning that perfect piece a reality. A 25% non-refundable deposit is to be paid upon purchase; the remaining balance is due within 2 months of the date of purchase.

A small amount of consignments items can be found in the store. As space is very limited, only unique antiques or home décor items of high demand are considered. If you have any antiques you would like to consign and feel it fits the above criteria, then please feel free to email pictures to gill@streetsoflondonantiques.com, along with any information about the piece such as history and dimensions. Streets of London Antiques will take 40% of the final sale price. As mentioned, it's a very selective process, therefore, please do not be offended if your items are not accepted.
